DON’T LET A BRIEF MOMENT OF JOY TURN TO DEVASTATION.

We’ve stepped into the season of celebrations, where the atmosphere is brimming with joy, festivities, and social gatherings. December gatherings are frequently accompanied by the inclusion of various approved and prohibited pyrotechnic devices. We are addressing the dangers that can have serious consequences for individuals, their close ones, and even animals. Unfortunately, exercising caution in handling fireworks may not suffice. Not only does it contribute to environmental pollution, elevate the risk of fires, and frighten children and pets, but it can also result in severe, potentially permanent, injuries.

POTENTIAL CONSEQUENCES OF THE IMPROPER USE OF PYROTECHNICS

  • Misuse of pyrotechnics can result in severe injuries, with hands, face, and hearing being the most commonly affected areas. Due to the nature of these injuries, amputations of fingers, entire hands, or even entire arms are often required in the most severe cases.

  • The use of pyrotechnic devices adversely affects all animals, particularly pets. The sounds and light effects induce stress and fear in wild birds and other creatures, often leading them to flee and get lost. Unfortunately, pets are often victims of injuries caused by pyrotechnic devices.

Despite all the warnings from the police and the general public, a complete ban or effective prevention of the use of various firecrackers, fireworks, and related products has not yet been achieved in our society. While the statistics show a decreasing number of injuries, tragic accidents related to the use of pyrotechnic products still occur every year. Every injury is unnecessary and avoidable, so we want to emphasize: Consider your well-being and the well-being of those around you—everyone who could be profoundly affected for the rest of their lives due to a few moments of joy. Act responsibly, and, if possible, refrain from using firecrackers.

To prevent injuries, prioritize prevention, which is always preferable to cure. For minor injuries like burns, abrasions on fingers, face, and injuries to pets that don’t necessitate medical attention, it is best to use Vivamel wound dressings. Keep them stocked in your medicine cabinet as they prevent infections, alleviate pain and swelling, accelerate the healing process, and contribute to scar-free recovery.
