CHESTNUT HONEY DISPLAYS AN EXCEPTIONAL THERAPEUTIC POTENTIAL IN TREATMENT OF CHRONIC AND ACUTE WOUNDS

VIVAMEL WOUND DRESSINGS

VIVAMEL wound dressings with the mechanisms of action of medical chestnut honey and absorbent carrier materials support the healing process of the wound from the beginning to healing.

Honey has a high sugar content and a low water content and an acidic pH. These physical properties create an environment in the wound that is unfavourable for the growth of microorganisms and promotes wound cleaning and healing.

Medical chestnut honey creates a moist environment has been proven to promote the healing process of the wound. Simultaneously, it supplies enzymes, elements, and antioxidants that further stimulate wound healing.

Due to its osmotic activity, medical chestnut honey promotes wound cleaning, enables moist healing, has antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory effects, reduces unpleasant odour, promotes the formation of new tissue, and accelerates wound closure and healing with fewer scars.

Wound healing is the fastest and most effective if one starts using Vivamel medical chestnut honey immediately.

You can choose from four types of wound dressings with medical chestnut honey: alginate dressing, polyurethane foam, contact mesh, and honey in a tube. The amount of wound exudate should be the main criteria when choosing the right Vivamel dressing.

VIVAMEL ALGINAT

Vivamel alginat is a primary absorbent wound dressing. Calcium alginate is fully impregnated with naturally produced undiluted medical chestnut honey. Alginate has a high absorption capacity: sodium ions from the wound are exchanged with calcium ions from the dressing, which provides an additional haemostatic effect. With the absorption of the exudate, alginate swells and forms gel. In addition to exudate, it also binds necrotic tissue and microorganisms. It creates a warm moist environment in the wound that significantly accelerates healing.

Vivamel alginat is a dressing suitable for wounds with moderate to high exudate. It is especially recommended for wounds, where the inflammatory process predominates and the focus is on decomposition and removal of dead tissue, as well as defence against bacteria.

VIVAMEL CONTACT

Vivamel contact is a primary wound dressing. A polyester contact mesh is completely covered with naturally produced undiluted medical chestnut honey. The structure of the contact mesh is perforated and allows the exudate to diffuse from the wound. Medical chestnut honey prevents the secondary dressing from sticking to the wound bed.

Vivamel contact is a dressing suitable for wounds with low exudate that are in the process of maturing new cells (granulation) and the growth of the top layer of skin (epithelialization).

THE SOFTNESS OF THE CONTACT MESH IS COMPLEMENTED BY MEDICAL CHESTNUT HONEY

VIVAMEL PROTECT

Vivamel protect is a primary absorbent wound dressing. One side of the polyurethane (PU) foam is completely covered with naturally produced undiluted medical chestnut honey. The structure of the PU foam is extremely soft and absorbent structure that absorbs wound exudate effectively. Moreover, it provides mechanical and thermal protection to the wound.

Vivamel protect is a dressing suitable for wounds with moderate to low exudate. It has been clinically proven that it stimulates the removal of fibrin deposits from the wound bed. It is especially recommended for wounds, where the proliferation process predominates, and the focus is on growth, reproduction, and maturation of new cells (granulation) and the growth of the top layer of skin (epithelialization).

VIVAMEL IN A TUBE

Vivamel medical chestnut honey in a tube is 100% naturally produced and undiluted. Due to its optimal viscosity, it spreads nicely over the wound and completely covers it.

In the wound bed, honey acts as a gel that softens necrotic tissue in the wound – it promotes debridement and wound cleaning, while at the same time accelerating the phases of inflammation, granulation, and epithelialization. Honey comes in an aluminium cream tube with a screw cap. The aluminium tube does not expand after squeezing the honey out, thus preventing contamination of the remaining contents. Honey from the tube can be used for multiple applications (4 months after opening). Medical chestnut honey in a tube is practical, as it allows using the optimal amount of the product for wound treatment.

Vivamel medical chestnut honey in a tube is suitable for all types of wounds. It is recommended for superficial wounds, deep wounds, undermining wounds, and necrotic wounds. Medical honey in a tube can be used independently or added to other Vivamel dressings to intensify the healing process.

ALWAYS THE FIRST CHOICE FOR WOUND TREATMENT

VIVACARE MEL

FIRST AID FOR MINOR WOUNDS.

VIVACARE mel is a kit designed to treat minor burns, scratches, abrasions, blisters, and minor surgical wounds quickly and effectively. The advantage of medical honey compared to other wound healing ointments is that it is 100% natural and, therefore, very wound-friendly. It does not contain any unnecessary additives that would additionally burden the wound, and it is 100% effective.

The kit contains VIVAAQUA water-resistant transparent plasters that protect the wound from water and VIVAPORE plasters made from soft white fibre. Different types of plasters come in three different sizes so one can choose the most suitable one for each wound.

Simply apply honey from the tube to the pad of the plaster and cover the wound. The contents of the tube can be used for four months after opening, just be careful and prevent the tube from touching the wound when applying honey. Contact with the wound could contaminate the remaining contents of the tube.

Keep small wounds small. If the wound receives proper care immediately, there is no reason to fear it would take a long time to heal. It must be treated in way that prevents further infection and inflammation. Once the wound is formed, it is important to first stop the bleeding. Wash the wound with clean warm running water and cover it with a plaster with medical chestnut honey.

Vivacare mel is indispensable in home and travel first-aid kits.
